- 3D Digitization: terrestrial lasergrammetry, helicopter photogrammetry, topographic survey, GPS positioning
- Vector restitution
In 2014, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN) entrusted Art Graphique & Patrimoine with the exhaustive digitization of the Marvel, a cloister inside the grounds of the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey.
Among the various elements that make up the abbey, the Marvel is a true architectural feat because it is built on a steep rocky base. AGP’s exhaustive survey meant the cloister could be documented in plans, sections and elevations – all for use in future restoration projects at the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey.
Once the mapping had been completed and the final data merged, georeferenced and cleaned, the vector restitution began. Draftsmen rendered each architectural element with extreme precision and in full compliance with the construction rules specific to the architectural style.
The project spanned almost three months, with three weeks spent at the abbey followed by two months spent in the office during the restitution phase. AGP’s work allowed for the creation of the requested plans, but also generated a complete digital footprint of the Marvel – a complete, documented, ordered and hierarchical foundation for future work.
